OSCON has come and gone, and the StrongLoop and IBM team members who attended are still catching up on rest as well as thinking of our great interactions with OSCON attendees.
One amazing thing about OSCON is that the vast majority of attendees are there primarily to learn more about and support open source projects that they feel passionately about. As the Hack Zone sponsors, the StrongLoop team was lucky enough to be the front and center at OSCON for all four days, which means we got to meet a ton of these passionate developers. We made the most of that opportunity by chatting about both LoopBack and IBM API Connect while we handed out a LOT of shirts, stickers and chargers.
We were pleasantly overwhelmed by the number of devs we interacted with, from huge multi-national companies to small startups, who told us they were either planning to use LoopBack or already had it running in production. Making LoopBack a great tool for API development, contributing to Node.js, and actively supporting the open source community in general have always been of central importance to us at Strongloop, so it’s always fun and encouraging to see that our efforts are help devs build great things. And in addition to LoopBack, we also described how API Connect made it easy to create APIs and microservices. Since there was a dedicated IBM booth inside the main hall, we pointed people that way for a more in-depth discussion of how IBM’s solutions could help with their projects.
All in all our time at OSCON was time well spent, and it charged us up for our next round of events. And our next one is this week – GlueCon!
